Ingredients:
Quinoa, 2 cups (Rinsed and soaked, as detailed below.)
1 cup of water, plus a full water chamber in the steamer.
Tuna steak, 3/4 pound, over 1 inch thick (fresh/thawed)
Seasonings of choice
Instructions:
- Prepare the quinoa by:
- Rinse 2 cups of Quinoa with pure clean water a couple of times. You can put it into a bowl and swish water in the bowl with it a couple of times. You’ll need a fine strainer to drain the water off, but may not need a nut milk bag/cheese cloth bag if your strainer is fine enough.
- Put the 2 cups Quinoa + 4 cups of water + 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into a container and let it soak for 24 hours.
- Drain the water after that.
- Put the Quinoa into the steamer cooking pot. Spread it out evenly.
- Add 1 cup of water into the cooking pot with the Quinoa.
- Put the Steaming Tray in over the Quinoa.
- Season the Tuna and the Quinoa.
- Put the Tuna into the Steaming Tray.
- Put the lid on.
- Turn the steamer On.
- Select Custom, 30 minutes.
- Press Start to begin the cook.
- Pause and flip the fish after about 18 minutes.
- Allow the cook time to complete.
- Check the meat temperature is at least, 145° F.
- Season again, since the steamer water dilutes flavor.
- Enjoy.
