Ingredients:
Box Cake of Choice. Typically involves the following or similar:
box cake mix
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil (I use canola oil for cakes)
3 eggs (I use large eggs)
a little flour
cooking spray
Instructions:
- You’ll need 2 round metal 9″ cake pans. Pans with good non-stick coating and spray them with non-stick spray.
- As instructed on the box, mix all the ingredients with a mixer, first on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium for 2 minutes.
- Pour the cake batter into the cake pans. Split it between the 2 pans evenly.
- Place a rack on the lowest position and another on the 3rd up from the bottom.
- Press the MENU button until you reach the Bake preset.
- Turn the dial to 325° F.
- Press the TIME/TEMP Button
- Turn the Dial to 33 minutes.
- Press the Start Button/Dial. The NuWave Bravo XL Smart Oven will begin to pre-heat.
- Once the Smart Oven has finished pre-heating and starts its 5 minute countdown. Place one cake pan on the lowest rack and the other on the 3rd rack up. Then press the Start Button/Dial.
- After 15 minutes of cooking, press the Start/Pause Button/Dial to pause the cook.
- Spin and move the cake pans around on their respective racks for even cooking.
- Press the Start/Pause Button/Dial to continue the cook.
- Allow the cook to continue 13 more minutes.
- Press the Start/Pause Button/Dial to pause the cook.
- Check and remove the top rack cake pan. A toothpick or knife should come out clean.
- Spin and move the lowest cake pan, but keep it on the lowest rack.
- Press the Start/Pause Button/Dial to continue the cook.
- Continue to cook the final 5 minutes.
- Check and remove the cake pan on the lowest rack. A toothpick or knife should come out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool 1 hour. Then ice them as a 2 layer cake.
