Frozen Whole Chicken (Instant Pot and NuWave Bravo XL Smart Oven Air Fryer Recipe)


1 Whole Chicken, 4 pounds, Frozen
2 Cups Cold Water
Old Bay Seasoning
Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Poultry Seasoning of choice
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Apple Juice


  1. Add water into the Instant Pot inner/cooking pot.
  2. Insert the trivet into the inner/cooking pot.
  3. Cover the chicken with oil.
  4. Apply Old Bay Seasoning to the chicken to taste.
  5. Apply Fresh Cracked Black Pepper to taste.
  6. Apply poultry seasoning of choice to taste.
  7. Place the chicken into the Instant Pot inner/cooking pot.
  8. Put on the Instant Pot lid and close the seal.
  9. Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 30 minutes.
  10. Allow Natural Release.  Or wait 30 minutes before trying a quick release.
  11. Put a rack on the lowest rack holder of the NuWave Bravo XL Smart Air Fryer Oven.
  12. Place the grill rack into the baking and set aside outside of the Smart Oven, to use in later steps below.
  13. After releasing pressure on the Instant Pot.  Use tongs or the trivet to pull the chicken from the Instant Pot.
  14. Transfer the chicken to the grill rack.
  15. Spritz with Apple Juice.
  16. Place the chicken on the grill rack into the NuWave Bravo XL Smart Air Fryer Oven.
  17. Press the ON/OFF Button, to turn the Smart Oven On.
  18. Press the MENU Button until the Broil option is selected.
  19. Press the Start Button/Dial.
  20. Allow to cook on Broil for the default 500° F for 10 minutes.
  21. Check the thigh meat temperature is at least 170° F.
  22. Enjoy!
